    Different Types of Bathroom Showers

Every bathroom layout, size, and style vary. Choosing the best shower for you and your bathroom starts with understanding the options that are available.

Here is a list of the different types of bathroom showers:

A walk-in shower typically has a barrier-free entrance. This means there are no doors or curbs in the shower’s entryway. Often, walk-in showers feature glass panels that separate the shower from the rest of the bathroom and help contain the water.

A stand-up shower has walls and a door. There is also often a curb between the inside and outside of the shower, which helps keep the water from leaking out onto the bathroom floor.

One of the most common types of showers is the tub-shower combination. This shoer features both a shower head and a tub faucet with a bath tub encloser. Rather than a door, tub-shower combos use a curtain to separate the space and prevent water from splashing onto the floor.

The Accessibility for Ontarians with Disabilities Act (AODA) includes minimum and maximum shower dimensions for the shower base, entrance, and bench. These guidelines make it easier for individuals with disabilities and/or mobility challenges to navigate and use bathrooms.

A custom shower can be any style, shape, or design you desire. This includes customizing the dimension of the base, door/entrance, and bench, as well as the materials, fixtures, and finishes. A custom shower can be any of the above shower types.

A corner shower is typically square in shape and is installed in the corner of your bathroom. These showers can have a stand-up or walk-in design and may or may nor feature a small corner bench inside.
